Maryland's new home for Terrapin Athletics was completed in the fall of 2002, and has already provided a season of toppled attendance records and athletic achievements. Comcast Center provides a seating capacity of 17,950 fans and serves as a campus site for university special events and select community events.

The University of Maryland wrestling team competes in a new 1,500-seat gymnasium, creating a loud, exciting atmosphere for the Terrapin team to use a decided home-court advantage.

Comcast Center houses the university's athletics administration offices and includes a 7,000-square-foot Academic Support Center, providing an enhanced study atmosphere for the school's near-700 student-athletes on 25 teams. The Nextel Heritage Hall multi-purpose room (capacity 400) is equipped to host banquets, press conferences, meetings and serve as a pre-game restaurant suite overlooking the competition arena. Comcast Center is an excellent place for alumni and fans to enjoy their favorite sports and share in their common Terrapin spirit. Maryland has once again reclaimed the status of having the best student activities center and athletics home in the country.

From Baltimore and Points North
Take I-95 South to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
Take Exit 27 and then follow signs to Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
Proceed approximately two miles south on U.S. Route 1.
Turn right into main entrance of campus and follow signs to destination.

From Virginia and Points South
Take I-95 North to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
Continue North on I-95/I-495 toward Baltimore.
Take Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
Proceed approximately two miles south on U.S. Route 1.
Turn right into main entrance of campus and follow signs to destination.

From Virginia and Points West
Take I-66 East or I-270 South to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
Go East on I-495 toward Baltimore/Silver Spring.
Take Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
Proceed approximately two miles south on U.S. Route 1.
Turn right into main entrance of campus and follow signs to destination.

From Annapolis and Points East
Take U.S. 50 to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
Go North on I-95/I-495 toward Baltimore.
Take Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
Proceed approximately two miles south on U.S. Route 1.
Turn right into main entrance of campus and follow signs to destination.

From Washington, D.C. (Northwest/Southwest)
Take 16th St. North which becomes Georgia Ave. North at Maryland/D.C. line.
Go East on I-495 toward Baltimore.
Take Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
Proceed approximately two miles south on U.S. Route 1.
Turn right into main entrance of campus and follow signs to destination.

From Washington, D.C. (Northeast/Southeast)
Take Rhode Island Ave. (U.S. 1 North) which becomes Baltimore Ave. North at Maryland/D.C. line.
Proceed through the city of College Park.
Turn left on Paint Branch Parkway and follow signs to destination.

The University of Maryland is served by three major airports--Reagan Washington National (DCA), Baltimore-Washington International (BWI), and Washington Dulles (IAD). Following are suggestions for travel to campus from these airport locations.

Baltimore-Washington International (BWI)
Located just outside Baltimore, this airport is approximately 25 miles north of College Park. Driving time is approximately 35 minutes. We prefer this airport for flights into College Park.

Reagan Washington National (DCA)
Located in Arlington, Virginia, this airport is located about 15 miles south of College Park. Travel can be slow through downtown Washington, D.C. during rush hours; approximate driving time is 40 minutes.

Washington Dulles International (IAD)
Located near Herndon, Virginia, this airport is about 35 miles southwest of College Park. Driving time is approximately one hour.
